US Air Force Captain Nick Grieco Flies Flag During Refueling over Afghanistan in Honor of Late Lance Corporal Phillip E. Frank

Glenview native and U.S. Air Force Captain Nick Grieco flew an American flag over Afghanistan in honor of the the Late Lance Corporal Phillip E. Frank.  Grieco is the son of Jim Grieco, Glenview Blaze Treasurer.  Nick, a graduate of OLPH and Loyola Academy, got his wings with the Air Force in 2009 and has been stationed in Korea, Italy, and Afghanistan.

Frank, of Elk Grove Village, was killed April 8, 2004, while serving the U.S. during Operation Iragi Freedom.  Each year, the Blaze hosts its annual Salute to the Troops Memorial Day Weekend Tournament and raises money for the Heart of a Marine Foundation and American Legion Auxiliary, Joseph M. Sesterhenn Post #166.  Lance Corporal Frank's parents, Roy and Georgette Frank, started the Heart of a Marine Foundation in 2005 in honor of their son.
