Glenview Blaze 10U Wins the Seminole Classic Tournament

The Glenview Blaze 10 year-old team won the Seminole Classic on Sunday, June 25th in Schaumburg, IL. The Blaze defeated the Wasco Warriors 12-7 in a hard fought rematch in the championship game, completing a 5-0 sweep for the tournament.

The Blaze Red team went 2-0 in pool play and started the tournament by defeating the Villa Park Warriors 14-4 on Saturday afternoon and then beat the Wasco Warriors 14-13 on Saturday evening.  The Blaze were awarded the #2 seed, played FCA Impact in the first game of the playoffs and defeated them by a score of 11-7. The Blaze then faced Top Tier Black (the feeder team for St. Laurence High School) in the semi-finals.  The Blaze defeated Top Tier 6-4 in a well-played contest and moved on to the championship game.

Up next, the Glenview Blaze 10U team will be competing in the Fastballs & Fireworks Tournament held on June 30th – July 2nd in Schaumburg, IL.

Every Blaze player contributed significantly to the tournament championship. The team includes Colin Drake, Michael Eschenbach, Ryan Jackson, Michael John, Brendan Loftus, Brady Ondrula, Tom Regan, Teddy Schroeder, Brady Sehlhorst, Connor Sullivan, Danny Szafraniec and Boston Tuvell. The team is led by manager Rob Lang and coaches Kreg Jackson and Mike Regan.

The Blaze is the elite travel baseball program of Glenview, but welcomes players from other communities. The Blaze will be holding open tryouts for the 2018 season for all 10U-14U teams during the week of July 17th.
