Blaze 10U is the Runner-Up in Fastballs & Fireworks Tournament

The Glenview Blaze 10 year-old team was the runner up in the Seminole Sports Fastballs & Fireworks Tournament on Sunday, July 2nd in Schaumburg, IL. The Blaze were defeated by the #1 seeded Oak Park Eagles 12-11 in an extra innings championship game, completing a 3-1 record for the tournament.

The Blaze Red team went 1-1 in pool play and started the tournament by losing to the Oak Park Eagles 4-0 on Friday and then beat the Cary Trojans 10-0 on Saturday afternoon.  The Blaze were awarded the #3 seed, and faced the #2 seed Crystal Lake Slam in the semi-finals.  The Blaze defeated the Slam 8-7 in a hard fought 9 innings contest and moved on to the championship game.

Up next, the Glenview Blaze 10U team will be competing in the Mid-Suburban Baseball League tournament held on July 13th – 16th in Elmhurst, IL.

Blaze players contributing to tournament included Colin Drake, Michael Eschenbach, Ryan Jackson, Michael John, Brendan Loftus, Brady Ondrula, Tom Regan, Teddy Schroeder, Brady Sehlhorst, Connor Sullivan, Danny Szafraniec and Boston Tuvell. The team is led by manager Rob Lang and coaches Kreg Jackson and Mike Regan.
